Situé au bord de la Liffey, le très douillet Clarence boutique-hôtel, construit en 1852, appartient à deux membres du groupe U2, The Edge et Bono. Chic et cher, il a l’avantage d’être situé dans Temple Bar, mais à l'écart de son agitation. Classiques et classes, les 51 chambres sont agréables et possèdent du mobilier fabriqué sur mesure. Les plus chères jouissent d'une belle vue sur le fleuve. Un bar, l'Octagon, permet aussi de boire un verre de whiskey dans un cadre très classe. Pour les voyageurs branchés, plutôt upper class.

Friendly helpful staff, nice warm welcome. Room 506 is very noisy being next to the lift shaft. The full Irish breakfast was a bit disappointing, the bacon and both puddings were over done, a separate plate for the toast would have been better.

Great location, lovely reception and bars. Our room had a fab bed and amazing shower and was beautifully decorated, however, a few things would have made it much better. Free bottles of water and better quality coffee and tea would have been a good idea at this s price. And good quality biscuits!!! Plus the furniture was quite scuffed and chipped (although the bed, chair and lamps etc looked new).

The U2 hotel experience was just amazing. The hotel staff, the location, the delicious breakfast, and fantastic cocktails... The rooms are a bit retro but fun. I loved the old phone that was even working. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. Thank you!!!!

Had a lovely time here. It was quiet during the day but it was the start of January when people aren't really around, it suited me. We had a lovely room which was well equipped but we could still hear drums from the place next door but that was fine. The shower is lovely, great pressure and spacious. The beds are comfy. The staff are v friendly and relaxed which I liked.

Staff were super friendly, check-in experience was one of the nicest I've had anywhere. Not only stored our bags when we checked in early but messaged us when the room was available and had already taken our luggage up for us.. something hotels don't do.
Rooms are nice, large comfy beds, spacious bathroom with large walk-in shower. Smeg Fridge and lots of storage space.
It's at the far end of Temple Bar but surrounded by lots of good options for eating out.
