THE CULPEPER

The waitresses were very unfriendly. We just ordered food and didn’t even ask for something extra - so we are still wondering why they acted so bad. Even before ordering food, the moment we sat there the waitress came to tell us we only have 1.5 h so we should order fast but in a very unfriendly way?
The only thing we asked was when a friend came in to pick us up in the end when we were about to leave but we just wanted to finish off our beers and leave, so we asked if we could use a chair until people for the other tables arrive (there were plenty) - they said no saying they are booked? Which is fine we only wanted to take it for 5 min until we finish off our beer but they said no again in a very unfriendly way. There were plenty like lots (!) of free chairs - what’s the harm in using them for a few minutes until people arrive? No one came at the time we left. They all remained empty. Even our friend that came in for literally 5 min thought it’s weird.
It’s sad that they have such unfriendly service despite amazing food. It’s also sad to be treated bad as we were looking forward to enjoy a nice Sunday roast in this place. Hence, I don’t think I’ll go there again :/.
I never experienced a restaurant doesn’t have a spare chair even through many tables are empty.
Such a shame really, feel sorry for the owners
Didn't eat here but the food looked good.
Drinks and prices were standard for the area.
Got quite busy and we had to stand for a little while.
While there are A LOT of steps to get to the rooftop bar, it is well worth it. Great views and the whole area is surrounded by herbs and fruit grown for the restaurant. Smells amazing!
Well worth a visit (and a climb).
