The room I stayed in was very spacious for this price, but the trade off might be the decoration and amenities. They are NOT going to give you the impression of standard five star hotel chains, but rather an ambiguous independent one. I certainly feel everything in the room is a little old, but not to the extent that it would really bother you. For travelers who do not specifically value the freshness of furnitures, Alden Suite would be a nice choice.

If I could give this place a -100000 star rating I genuinely would. Rude condescending staff - they charged me extra for breakfast when I clearly said I did not had a guest and asked them to check the security footage and they still did not believe me - also for breakfast no one was attending me for 25 mins, I grabbed a croissant and left and they still charged me 45 euros. For dinner another guest wanted to pay by card but the system was down so they forced him to go to an ATM nearby to pay and he was clearly very upset. Restaurant is not open on Mondays. No amenities. Suites old, not well cleaned and maintained. Also, who doesn’t provide a shaving kit and an iron in the hotel room??? Very absurd atrocious place I would NEVER stay here again

Truly 5-star experience. Hotel is not brand new, however, location, staff friendliness and professionalism as well as excellent food (both breakfast and dinner) make it my place to go when I visit Zurich.

Hôtel avec de très belles prestations, la suite est sublime et très spacieuse, la literie est d’un confort absolu. Tout est fait pour passer un beau séjour.
Le personnel est avenant et à l’écoute des besoins.
Petit bémol toutefois sur le bain à remous qui est inutilisable car le bouchon pour fermer l’évacuation de l’eau est cassé.
Également le petit déjeuner est servis jusqu’à 11h00 et il n’y a plus de croissants à 10h…dommage pour un 5 étoiles.

Deserve more than 5-star! Very welcoming front desk, top facilities and good location. Will definitely choose this hotel to stay if I come to Zurich again

Was für ein tolles Hotel, aber erst die herzlichen mitarbeiten haben diesen Aufenthalt zu dem gemacht was es war, UNVERGESSLICH und ganz besonders vor allem für unseren Sohn der seinen 4 ten Geburtstag hier verbringen durfte.
Es wurde gesungen, der Tisch war dekoriert, sogar einen kleinen Geburtstagskuchen gab es.

Abends aßen wir im hauseigene Restaurant, auch hier ein ganz ganz großes Lob an die Küche, es war alles auf den Punkt gegart und gewürzt. Das Steak war unfassbar zart, man schmeckte einfach mit wie viel Leidenschaft hier gearbeitet wird!!! Dieser Koch verdient ein Stern!!!

Vielen Dank für den super schönen Aufenthalt bei ihnen im Haus; das war sicherlich nicht unser letzter!!

Zimmer waren sauber und sehr großzügig geschnitten.

It is a very beautiful 5 star hotel. I have tried 2 rooms, if you have the budget for it, I suggest the top floor room, with a sauna and balcony. The location is nice, you can walk to the lake. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is not very well connected to public transportation, and around the hotel, it is mostly business venue.

Catlina was super nice and professional at the reception. We had a long trip and we were super tired but she welcomed us with a glass of champagne and a good small talk.

They were so welcoming and the staff are so kind and helpfulI, they provided us with information and help, we even had an upgrade m, it is quite and comfy but I don’t think it is a 5 stars hotel, the sofas weren’t clean, the toilets too, and the bed is old and soundy.

I can recommend the place cause everything is near, old town, FIFA museum and other museums too, the lake( u can book a cruise)

The hand-written 'Welcome back' note in our room was a premium touch. The staff and facilities are top-notch. My wife and I have stayed here several times, and the experience never lets us down. The staff is superb from the check-in and during the entire stay. It is located one block from the lake and within easy walking distance to the town center. The local Starbucks is just a short walk, close to the train station, and an excellent Chinese restaurant. We will visit this great hotel next time we're in Zurich.

Beautiful hotel, but is no longer a 5*

The aircon broke and I almost died of heat. Absolutely unacceptable. They haven't even got a fan that you can borrow at reception

There is no restaurant apart from breakfast and the TV does not connect to the internet. Staff just said they had no idea how to fix it.

5* hotels should have at least room service, as advertised. It used to have a Michelin chef, but that was years ago and yet they still boast a "Mediterranean restaurant"
The breakfast is NOT INCLUDED, even though I asked them and they said it was already paid.

Staff are lovely, but they can't do much to help with everything broken that ruined our stay.

So hot, ???? it truly lost its appeal. This is from a guest who lives in Cyprus, where it's currently 45 degrees, and yet I've been hotter here than at home. I leave tomorrow and absolutely can't wait to leave.

Avoid at all costs!

Edit: staff after much arguments gave is a 300 franc discount, which basically paid for the highly overpriced, disappointing breakfast
