ELAN HOTEL

One standout feature for me was the lobby's coffee maker, a seemingly small detail that made mornings effortless, allowing for a hassle-free start to the day.
The staff at Elan Hotel, particularly Ms. Karla and Mr. Zia at the front desk, deserve applause for their exceptional hospitality. Their professionalism and warmth enhanced my entire stay.
Notably, the hotel's prime location is a major draw. Everything you need, from dining to shopping and attractions, is within easy walking distance, offering unparalleled convenience for travelers.
Unfortunately, our last stay was beyond disappointing.
Previous management had the place running like a dream with great atmosphere and lots of clientele. Its now like a ghost town.
In the past breakfast was provided and not just a piece of toast! There were waffles, fresh fruit, juices, coffee & tea and yes toast and for us Australians they even had vegemite. Now….. Coffee (from a machine) from 7.30 – 10.00 – that’s it!
Also, in the past from 5.00pm – 7.00pm each day there was happy hour with wines, beers, cheese, biscuits, and it was a scramble to find a seat as it was so popular. They still advertised the happy hour but in the two nights we were there nothing! When I asked the VERY DISINTERESTED “receptionist” at the counter she said no not tonight (or the next night during our stay) and as we were leaving for dinner on our first night, she offered us a can of beer which we declined. She now will not even make eye contact as we come and go, its like we have done something wrong. Very unprofessional. One the third and last night of our stay there were two bottles of wine on the reception counter. When we ask if these were for happy hour the gentleman on reception advised that they were and asked if we would like some. We said yes and he poured us each a half glass of wine into a plastic cup. We then asked for and received another half glass of wine. However, when we asked for a third half glass we were told that it was a two glass maximum and we could not be served any more – ridiculous!
Whilst the rooms are clean, the whole place is very tired and a shadow of its former self. We will not be staying at the Elan should we visit LA again. To be honest with the current management I doubt that it will still be open when we do.
Lift your game Elan.
