We can't say enough how much we were pleased with our brief stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lake Charles! We needed a place to stay at the last minute and they were so accommodating and kind. The staff was friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had. We usually book a king suite room and they are ok but sometimes the couch or chair they provide aren't always that comfortable and the rooms aren't that much bigger - but here at Lake Charles the suite was so roomy and we felt like we could move around and truly relax. We were right by the highway but we didn't hear much traffic noise at all. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked and the kitchen staff was so friendly. We would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express & Suites to anyone traveling to or through Lake Charles!

Also had security guard who looked over the place especially in the evening.

Bedding ok. Bed a bit soft.
Convenient to highway on our route TX to FL
The window let in too much noise. Road noise, motorcycles and truck noise is awful! Outside noise very continues late into the night! The room door gaps let in too much noise and light.
Loud air handler and bathroom vent
Very loud refrigerator.
Blackout curtains don’t close all the way. Parking lot floodlights hit right in our faces in the bed.
Old building. Funky smells.
Tub extremely slippery and dangerous!

Checking in was a breeze, location easy to get to and breakfast was hot and bacon was crispy. Have stayed there before and will stay again when passing through.

She took so many pictures for us that we were amazed. Overall the experience was great and my husbands 55th birthday went off without a hitch, thanks to good old southern hospitality.

The room was clean but the dresser drawers kept opening on their own. The front desk promptly came up and taped them shut using scotch tape. I was also a bit annoyed that the bathroom door lock did not work.

Service was top notch as always, which is why I always prefer the Holiday Inn.

Location was decent. We went to spend time at the casinos, although it was a bit of a drive, we saved money all by sacrificing the inconvenience of staying at a non casino hotel.

Overall, I'd stay again and recommend staying there.

I called another hotel before I made my reservation here. I decided not to go with the other hotel due to their price. The rate changed 3 times during the conversation. With the Holiday Inn, the first price given was so good, I didn’t have to haggle. Upon arriving, the check in was a little backed up but the front desk clerk was so apologetic and polite, the wait was not a problem. The room were nice, clean and quiet. We were headed to the casino later in the evening and another employee became our photographer. She took so many pictures for us that we were amazed. Overall the experience was great and my husbands 55th birthday went off without a hitch, thanks to good old southern hospitality.

Check in attendant was very personable! Probably the best thing about this hotel. It has a little musty smell though the whole place. Just getting old. Location was ok for us, pretty close to the highway.
