The rooms are outdated—desk veneer peeling, paint peeling all over, toilet seat was obviously needing replacing. The hotel knows our conference has 500plus people attending and there is never enough food at the overpriced buffet(and we need to pre-pay! So next year I’ll choose to go off site)…One nice thing—the staff is pretty great(helpful, accomodating)—kudos to you!

Hilton Albany - I spent a month there one night. Main lobby door: broken. Lobby coffee shop has, taped to the floor, a *rat king* knotted extension cord placed where you walk in to order. The cord is plugged into a sandwich warming cabinet. (Say it with me...Fire hazard). Room has: shower head at perfect height if you're 5'6" (short kings rejoice - I AM NOT A SHORT KING, I AM NOT A SHORT KING, I AM NOT A SHORT KING), mold on bathroom ceiling, chipping ceiling paint and paint on the wall that shows prior repairs (AKA: the Landlord special). The beds sagged - which is a great way to work on your core while you sleep #MultiTasking. The HVAC is a trip. The one sheet instructions at the thermostat will let you know that in the winter there is heat and in the summer air conditioning. You get one or the other..hotel’s choice So in the spring it was heat. 70º in the room. Not being a fan of nursing home temps - I had a problem. What do the instructions say...open the window. 35º and my window is open the sounds of downtown Albany and to the breeze coming from the Hudson River. Hey Hilton, tell me you want to become a Ramada, without saying you want to be a Ramada...

The hotel location is very close to the train station, and most of the government building. From the hotel, you can have a very good view of state Capitol. Rooms were clean, but the internet was horrible like you are on the DSL modem. I upgraded to $4.95 per day for high-speed internet, but that connection was awful. I connected on Zoom on the phone for voice and video using laptop for so called high speed internet for $4.95. I had to end my Zoom meeting prematurely for not having internet speed. I called AT&T customer service, and the internet didn't improve.

The customer service was good at checkin and for the problem I had.
The rooms need a major facelift. The Air Conditioning wasn’t working in my room, and after declining a fan and them opening the window, was transferred to a different room. The AC was still not working to where it should, but it was better than the other room.
I’ve had several colleagues stay here and they’ve all had complaints with the AC and room conditions. I don’t think that this hotel should have the Hilton brand because I expect much more from Hilton.
Double check the bathrooms and towels. I found hair that wasn’t mine.
I’m recommending to my company that we pull our contract from here and switch to a better facility.

Great view and location. The room on the executive floors was extremely dirty with stained carpets and limited furnishings. The furniture that was in the room was clearly old and worn down.
The wifi and card readers are unreliable. Both took multiple attempts to get them to work. The TV in the room did work but the remote didn't so I hope you like whatever channel it was on.
Honestly surprised that Hilton let's them use their brand, its far below other hotels that use it in terms of quality.

I rarely post hotel reviews, and never post them on multiple review sites…but I am for Hilton Albany.
Friends — especially those who frequent Hilton brand hotels — please know that the Hilton Albany is the worst Hilton hotel that I have ever stayed in…and I stay in a lot of Hilton brand hotels.
The best thing about the hotel was the completely normal buffet breakfast. Everything else was sub-par. The King Suite room — with its missing door between the rooms (don’t be fooled by the picture that shows a door), its lack of AC (they told us to open the window), the smallest imaginable bathroom, thin-as-paper walls, and dungeon feel (one small window) — is pretty awful. Forget about “diamond benefits” — not even a bottled water was offered and, when requested, they tried to charge the room for it.
There was nothing wrong with staff, it is just, structurally, a very bad hotel that should not have the Hilton brand. Trust me, stay somewhere else.

Booked a month and half in advance a king bed room. Received 2 doubles. Told us they were sold out. Why bother making a reservation if they’re just going to change it.

Rooms were super dirty. I had pretzels from some other person on the ground next to my bed, the nightstand was dirty, and there were mascara stains on the sheets. Do not stay. You can also hear everything from the halls, and there is always some commotion. My work colleague also had moldy raspberries and food from the previous person in her fridge.
We come here often for work events, and the service in the banquets areas is better, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1.

First, the parking garage is not well marked. There were 2 exits. It would have been nice to know which way to go when we got in. We mistakenly parked with our luggage. Should have dropped off first then parked.
The staff are friendly and accomodating. The shuttle service is great. Brian the driver was personable and helpful. The room is ok. Nothing special. We had a nice view of the State house. Room ran warm. The alarm clock did not work and the batteries in the tv remote needed to be changed. We were there for a concert at The Egg. Great shuttle service to and from.
We came back to have a drink after the show. Nice the bar is open late.
If you are not looking for anything fancy, at a good price, it's a good place to stay. My husband would have liked to use the pool, but time did not allow. Probably a good choice for kids.
We would stay again.

Good location.
Horrible customer service.
I tried to call the hotel to ask about this random charge I noticed on my credit card bill.
I was just bounced around between departments and was directed to a voicemail system for accounting.
Left my phone number and that was two weeks ago.
Horrible.
In addition every time I have stayed the breakfast that is supposed to be paid for is never out on time.
I dont have time to wait a extra 20 minutes.

I generally focus on posting positive stuff but this hotel has some major deficiencies.
The good - nice lady in the lobby bar recommended Cafe Cappricio which was a wonderful restaurant.
The shuttle driver Brian was very friendly and got us to and from the restaurant.
Mr B who runs the Starbucks stand in the lobby might be the most pleasant person I’ve met in months.
The bad:
-Nobody we ran into could get the room below 77 degrees (in winter with the heater in the room turned off). Only solution is to open the window so you hear all the busses and downtown traffic.
- I’m a Hilton Honors member and the couple we were traveling with is Diamond For Life. To spend more time with them we booked the executive room with access to the Executive lounge (cost an extra $20 per day but comes with access to the lounge, snacks, drinks, breakfast etc). . When we went to the lounge it was closed. My friend went to the manager to inquire about the closure she was rude to him. As it turns out it’s not open on weekends which also means Friday night. Would have been great to know that before paying extra.
- Decent views are blocked by windows that haven’t been washed since the Carter administration.

Good luck trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone if you have a billing issue! Had to pay twice to get out of the parking garage, figured it would be an easy fix after the fact. Have tried calling about 15 times and left several voicemails, you can't even get anyone on the phone here. How do they do business?
UPDATE: Owner replied below telling me to call the same phone number that no one answers. And shockingly, still no one answers. I received a call on Sunday from someone who said they would look into it and get right back to me. It is now Wednesday and not a peep.

The bathrooms were a little tight. I am from NYC so I am accustomed to accessibility to food, stores, etc in a very close area. That would be my other complaint. I was there but only had a few options for food or just picking up things. The hotel overall though was great and the service was great. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. My first trip to the capital.

I visited the Hilton Albany in mid-February 2024 with a friend. My friend was there for a conference that was going on so it was very busy in the hotel. I wasn’t there for the initial check in, so I’m unable to give my feedback. I will say I was very displeased with the cleanliness of the room, more specifically the bathroom. In the bathroom there was strands of hair on the shower walls and sink. There were also hair strands and I noticed stains on the towels. I understand it may be really difficult to get stains out of white items. However, linens that are stained shouldn’t be put in a guest room. The water pressure was terrible. Unless I’m traveling with a group, I prefer not to have a connected room. We were very unlucky to get a room that connected, we had two rooms that connected one in the front and the other in the back. I wasn’t pleased with this. However, since the conference was taking place there were no available rooms as they were sold out. The hotel does serve food in their restaurant however there is a charge. Breakfast was about $25-$27, Brunch jumps up to about $50.00, and I don’t recall the price for dinner. For breakfast there were hot options such as: eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, an omelet station, home fries. There were also bagels, Danishes, fruits, yogurt, and cereal. Bruch was the same as breakfast however they brought out meat options and mimosas. I didn’t have dinner at the restaurant however my friend informed it was really good. Near the front desk there is also a mini Starbucks. The hotel has about 5 or 6 elevators and it takes forever for them to come. S few times I waited over 15 minutes as they were often full. It could have been due to the high traffic in the hotel because of the conference that was taking place. Although the DND sign was in the door the housekeeper would knock on the door consistently. Even after she cleaned the room same thing with the hair strands. We requested more towels again. The heating/air in the room was terrible. At one point it seemed as though we couldn’t get any air and we ended up having to open the window. There was a fridge and mini coffee station in the room. No microwave in the room. It wasn’t a good look for those who had ordered room service the day/night before place the trays outside of their rooms for them to be in the same place the next day. There is also a safe in the closet. There is a parking garage next to the hotel however it isn’t free, parking is about $20 a day. The is no connection to the parking lot you have to exist the hotel to get to the parking lot. To be honest this hotel didn’t seem like a Hilton at all. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never stay at this location again. I only gave it 2 stars because the mall was nearby.
The rooms need a major facelift. The Air Conditioning wasn’t working in my room, and after declining a fan and them opening the window, was transferred to a different room. The AC was still not working to where it should, but it was better than the other room.
