Hautvillers is a tiny but upscale village and this is a polished and trendy restaurant featuring Champagne tasting and retail sales. We had lunch there and loved it. Beautiful modern design, sharp attentive staff, and a focused menu with fresh and slightly modern interpretations of poulet femier & saucisse aux lentillions. There are various tasting flights that are kind of California in their approach of delivery but which I grudgingly admit work wonderfully. There are three basic grapes commonly used in Champagne and you can taste them in a flight where each glass of wine is one grape only being Chardonnay, then Meunier and then Pinot Noir. Really a fun process. The catch is that a modern high end restaurant, great staff, and quality food has to be paid for so despite being in a small village, the pricing is more big city. These people work hard and deliver. Highly recommend.

The great thing about this place is that this is where we learned about our champagne tastes. The large tasting selection of 6 glasses gave us great insight into what grape we like in champagne. The food is delicious and typically French. A bit on the expensive side though

We came here twice in our stay in Hautvillers. Champagne tasting are reasonable price and excellent selection. Very friendly quick service. Had Champard'ises, a selection of delicatessen foods from the region and Poulet Fermier, a chicken and vegetable casserole in champagne cream, both very good. Don't miss the amazing raspberry macaron. A real gem, highly recommended.

Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Von dem Hauptgericht für 26 Euro sind wir nicht ansatzweise satt geworden, obwohl wir keine "großen Esser" sind. Auf Nachfrage, ob wir zufrieden wären,antworteten wir mit nein. Die Bedienung erwiderte nur, dass jedes Hauptgericht 450 g wiegen würde.. Personal scheint generell überfordert. Auf unser Essen haben wir über eine Stunde gewartet.

Da hat Hautvillers bessere Restaurants zu bieten.

Hoher Preis für wirklich kleine Gerichte. Qualität ist okay, wir sind eigentlich keine großen Esser, aber die Portionen sind sehr klein. Als Verteidigung wird sich nur darauf berufen, dass es 450 Gramm waren. Das kann höchstens vor dem garen so gewesen sein, danach war es höchstens 250 Gramm. Alleine der Fakt, dass die 450 Gramm auf der Karte vermerkt sind muss stutzig machen.
Bedienung bemüht aber total überfordert und dadurch unfreundlich.

AU36 är en trevlig vinbar i hjärtat av Champagne-regionen. Baren erbjuder ett stort urval av champagner från olika producenter.

Vi besökte AU36 för att prova tre olika champagner. Vi satt i trädgården, som var en härlig plats att njuta av det vackra vädret. Rekommenderar att ta cykeln till byn.

Belle découverte.
De passage à Hautvillers nous sommes venus manger par hasard dans ce petit resto à champagne.
Accueil super sympathique malgré l’heure tardive (14h45). Nous avons été installés dans une petite terrasse à l’arrière, le top !
La carte n’est pas grande mais excellente. Notre choix s’est porté sur différentes planches et nous avons été conquis par la fraîcheur et la qualité des produits. Nous avons apprécié la carte des champagnes celle ci était variée et à tous les prix.
Une belle découverte et expérience dans ce petit resto qui vaut le détour !!

Lekkere kazen. Proeverij van champagne gedaan, hierbij hadden we wat meer uitleg bij de champagne verwacht/gehoopt. Verder nog algemene opmerking dat het redelijk prijzig is voor wat je krijgt. Wel mooie plek.

This review concerns the shop/cave.

We visited the restaurant/tasting room many times over the years and love it.

Today, we went over to the shop, in search of a specific Champagne. We looking at the various labels, when the manager/shop assistant told my wife (a WSET qualified wine professional) to ‘you don’t need to look at the labels as you don’t know anything about Champagne. All the Champagnes here are good’ in an incredibly rude and patronising tone.

A great shame, given how good the restaurant & tasting room over the road is!

Leuk zaakje. Hier een champagneproeverij met 6 champagnes gedaan met een kaasplankje erbij. De kazen waren heel smaakvol! Het overige eten op de kaart vond ik wat overprised.

Petite adresse nichée dans un joli coin du village. Vous pourrez au choix manger en terrasse ou dans la batisse. Attention ici on déguste du champagne ! Pensez à prendre l'offre trois coupes à déguster, cela vous réveillera les papilles avant d'entamer une des délicieuses spécialités champenoises proposées au menu. Personnel très souriant et sympathique. A recommander.
