1. location - on the main road, close to cafes and restaurants, over the road from a bakers, east walk around Montmartre
2. front desk staff - really friendly and helpful, spoke French and English, thoughtful regarding late check out
3. Comfortable bed - with a thick mattress topper and crisp white sheets
4. Air con - and a fully opening wide window
5. facilities in the room - Great, TV on wall, with a desk and chair, wardrobe, and kettle, bottled water, (also tea, coffee, milk) - and a hairdryer, also two extra pillows and another lamp!
6. Bathroom - shower was rainfall or hand held, plenty of hot water and shower gel, cups for water, 4 towels, towel rail heated
7. Price - I got it for only a little more than a Formule1 hotel, so I was really impressed at the value.
Not so good:
1. Very small room and bathroom
2. Paper thin walls - you’ll hear everything so bring ear plugs.
3. CHECK. YOU. LOCKED. YOUR. DOOR. - Seriously. Being woken at 3:30am by an intoxicated bloke trying to get in bed with me, his face inches from mine, is not an experience I would ever want again. It took about an hour for my heart rate to return to normal and my body to stop shaking. When I spoke to the front desk they apologised and said it shouldn’t have happened, it was the previous employee. Apparently they gave a key card that opened my bedroom to a drunk guest. I understand mistakes happen, but how on EARTH would you think it was ok to give a drunken man a key card to open a room without checking that it was his name on the booking? Unbelievable and shocking. However, I didn’t let it ruin the whole stay, and it taught me a valuable lesson of CHECK YOU LOCKED THE DOOR.
