There’s not much to say about the hotel. The rooms were small, but comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful when we had requests. The hotel is nothing special, but the price is good and it’s an easy walk to many of the major sites throughout the city. I would definitely stay here again during a future trip to Paris.
Our hotel room was in uninhabitable and unsanitary conditions, the carpet was stained all over the place, not minor stains but substantial stains of who knows what, also the room was unacceptably dusty that it worsened my dust allergy that it did not allow me to catch sleep until 2am due to constant sneezing and eye redness; my wife does not have allergies and she was continuously coughing throughout the night. This is just the beginning, we found the washroom had mold all over the walls, very disgusting and worrisome.
When we spoke to the hotel clerk explaining how dusty the room and moldy the bathroom was, he said he could not give us another room, so we asked for a full refund and his response was that we needed to give more notice before wanting to cancel and request a refund, that response was plainly ridiculous and insulting, how was I or anyone supposed to foresee the room would be in such unfit conditions? He also said we should have mentioned that I have allergies, the nerve to say that, was again nonsense and then we realized we were facing a nightmare.
We booked this stay for 3 nights (through hotels.com), we stayed for one night and we just could not do it and had to leave the property before the second night kicked in for the sake of our health and well-being, we insisted on being refunded as the hotel breached their duty to provide us with a clean and habitable room and it was just like talking to a wall, the clerk (older man) shrugged it off and didn't do anything, he said he could not do anything.
We complained to hotels.com thinking they would have our backs and help us with the refund for the nights we did not use (at least) but to our surprise, they left us to our own devices, they told us that it is up to the policies of the hotel, everybody dusted off their hands and we ended up holding the bag. In the end, the hotel agreed to reluctantly refund us for one of the two nights we did not use, very unfair as we did not check out by choice but by their lack of cleanliness. I cannot stress enough, hotels.com did not do anything despite the years and years of loyalty that we have, it did not matter.
We unexpectedly and immediately ended up having to search for alternate accommodations in Paris, we managed to do so with a lot of luck given that it was high season but it came at a costly premium.
In summary, if the cheap rate of this place lures you thinking you will save some money, you will lose peace of mind during your stay and may find yourself with a surprise like we did, you will thank yourself if you spend your money elsewhere. Like other reviews say, and based on our experience, this hotel is not a true 3-star hotel.
rooms were okay. very very small and kinda smelly. I don’t know what they clean with but smelt very bad.
only good thing is the location.
