Unfortunately our experience here was pretty bad. We booked a double room, which was tiny, tired looking (not like the light airy pictures online), and it smelled damp. Overcoming this initial disappointment, we thought that the room would be fine once we aired it out. But when we put the air-conditioner on and it opened up, we saw that it was full of black mould. Not just on the flap, but all through the back of the unit. I have asthma, and cannot sleep in a room that is damp and mouldy. When I went to talk to the owner about moving to another room, she was skeptical, cold and stony with me.
She said she didn’t know what mould was, so I googled a picture and showed her. Then she said she didn’t believe me, so I took her to the room and showed her. She said “oh that’s nothing, I’ll just wipe it.” I repeated that I am allergic, and she might as well have rolled her eyes at me.
She moved us to the only other room that was available at the hotel - which was even smaller than the last, with no bathroom. Not what we paid for. (Side note - none of the rooms here have a bar fridge, or tea & coffee facilities).
Anyway, since they did not have any other double rooms available, we decided to go and stay somewhere else.
It was exhausting and difficult communicating with the owner, but to her credit, she did process a full refund.
The whole experience from start to finish felt deceptive, in small ways and big ways, and I feel that the owner tried to gaslight me every time I spoke to her.
We are not rude people, and if she had been a little more understanding about the situation, the unpleasantness of it could have been completely avoided.

I booked a room there for one night and got the confirmation for it, via an online platform. There apparently were troubles with the payment process, and luckily for safety reasons my bank protects my transactions. However I couldn’t reach the Hotel to solve it. As I reached the responsible person, through the costumer service of the online platform , first thing she began with taking things very personal and said that she tried to call me, I had no missed call or any call on my phone. Still she wasn’t interested in finding a solution.

Luckily I tried to reach out to her the day before which took a lot of effort to reach her through costumer service and I also did some back check with my bank, if there is some fault on my side for the transaction which doesn’t work. Through the payment system of the Hotel was just no security payment possible for me. So all leaded to that that she canceled my room the night before. So it was a bit of a time consuming issue in total, and I went for another Hotel.

A charming hotel with chilled-out atmosphere, positioned a short walk from the beach. We had a very comfortable room. The owners are so nice and very helpful. Having breakfast here is a must, so delicious and plentiful, the home-made granola and vitamin-shot smoothies were definite highlights.

Charmant hôtel bien placé et au calme, chambre petite, le parking est très éclairé pendant la nuit.... Déjeuner dans la norme. Hôteliers très commerçants.

Attention piège à touristes
L’endroit paraît charmant sur les photos
Mais… dans la réalité les chambres sont très petites, les sanitaires et l’hygiène limites, la propriétaire menteuse et cupide et surtout il existe bien d’autres endroits dans cette délicieuse ville d’Antibes pour éviter ce piège, les commentaires sont positifs parce qu’elle a compris comment les sélectionner. Pour exemple, elle a déclaré à Booking que nous ne nous étions pas présentés, pour que nous ne recevions pas le questionnaire de satisfaction ! notre conseil, chercher autre chose pour savourer votre séjour !

The place looks charming on the pictures
But... in reality the rooms are very small, the sanitary facilities and hygiene are limited, the owner is lying and greedy and above all there are many other places in this delightful town of Antibes to avoid this trap, the comments are positive because she has understood how to select them. For example, she told Booking that we had not shown up, so that we would not receive the satisfaction questionnaire! Our advice, look for something else to enjoy your stay!

Wow. This really is a hidden gem! We stayed in the garden room. It was perfect, the room was nicely furnished. We had breakfast both mornings which were fantastic and very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble! The location is perfect, close to the old town, a few hundred feet from the best beach in the area. Thank you again!

This hotel is a real hidden gem in a great location close to the beach and the old town. My partner and I stayed at many hotels in France on our 3 week trip from Australia most of which were 4 or 5 star but this was as good if not better than some others that were much more expensive. The service is wonderful, the room with the terrace was lovely. It’s not luxury but it’s charming, clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!!

Accoglienza perfetta, vecchia casa rimessa a posto con stanze nelle vecchie stanze della casa. La nostra aveva il bagno, piccolo ma funzionale, ma forse altre avevano bagno al piano.
Colazione a pagamento (12€) ma abbondante e buona.
Posto auto disponibile a 10 €.
Posizione fantastica, a 5 minuti a piedi dalla spiaggia e 10 dal centro.
Super consigliato per tutto questo.

Le Ponteil is a beautiful and charming boutique hotel - the pictures don't give the setting justice, it's even nicer when you're there. Despite being located centrally with walking distance to all relevant places (old town 5 minutes, beach 1 minute) it is both quiet and calm - lying isolated like an oasis in the living city of Antibes.

Rooms are charming and unique, with furnitures hand-picked to create a cosy atmosphere that is visible and consistent throughout the whole hotel.

Breakfast is served at 08:00 and can be enjoyed in the lovely garden with freshly baked bread from a local bakery along with a nice buffet of high quality and well-considered content.

The owners are a lovely Swedish couple that are kind, helpful and generous - and helps you with anything you need - and are happy to give suggestions of local things to do - or where to eat.

Highly recommend Le Ponteil if you're going to the riviera.
