-----The LOCATION is pretty great. Right across from the promenade, the beach is just a short walk away. (Pack your swim shoes though, cause those rocks are real.) If you get a room with a view of the water, the sunrise and sunset from the little balcony patio are deeply serene. Night life was a 15 minute walk away and there was plenty to see and do. If you want to go farther afield, the bus stop is just down the street.
-----The STAFF were extremely kind and helpful. They welcomed us each time we came in and were good enough to let us leave our bags on the premises for a short time between check out and our train.
-----The BUILDING doesn't seem to have a lift so if you have mobility issues, make sure you mention it before booking so they can arrange a first floor spot for you. There are stairs into the lobby so if you are a wheelchair user, you will need to keep looking. Walls are a bit thin (as is common for an older building) so guests need to be noise conscious and courteous.
-----The ROOM had strong reliable air conditioning and a programmable safe. No fridge or hairdryer. The bathroom is very tiny and you can tell that fighting the mold is a losing battle.
-----CLEANLINESS was good, but not great. I can't lie, I was a bit worried with the age of the property, but the floor was swept and the furniture was brushed. My only complaint was that there is dust coating the walls about halfway down the ceiling. This is actually *very* common with any building that has high ceilings, but I would love to see them brushed down.
-----A NOTE: The front gate closes early when the staff lock up. If you arrive later than that you have to come in "the back way." You *must* notifiy the hotel if you believe you will be checking in after dinner time. They explain this a bit confusingly in English so to help you out- A few of the hotels share a parking lot. To enter after hours you have to come in through a locked gate a few villa's down and walk through the back parking lot to the rear hotel door. It will also be locked, but they give you a key.
