The receptionist kindly stayed at the hotel until we arrived at around 7:30pm. We should have been alarmed when the receptionist offered us a radiator for our room when we arrived and she took us to the room
Regarding the room, we would have liked radiators that actually worked all day - not just at midday and into the early afternoon.
Having to use a portable radiator to try and keep the room warm is not acceptable for the price paid per night for our stay.
The quality of omelettes on Tuesday and Wednesday were terrible - I actually wish that I had taken a photograph !
The Monday omelette was good and the chef-prepared omelette on Thursday was very good. I didn't take an omelette on Friday morning as the same guy from Tuesday and Wednesday was on service.
The jams were more like sauces squeezed out of a bottle
The barman (and co-owner ?) Max didn't even know what style of Leman beer he had on draught.
In the pool area, there was a source of drinking water but never any cups / plastic glasses etc to use.
No changing facilities available. No mirrors or hair-dryers were available.
My wife had to go down to the bar / reception area to find Max because the room was so cold. He came up to the room and felt the radiators in the bathroom and bed room for temperature. His response was - "they are coming on". This was at about 9:30pm at night. When we challenged him on the radiator temperature he started speaking very fast in French and then stormed out of the room. We were disgusted by his reaction and response
The only way this can be a 4-star hotel is because it has a reasonable sized swimming pool.
Nothing else about the hotel is 4-star. On two occasions the omelettes were shocking.
Because it was so cold in the room on the first night, my daughter had to try and sleep with her pajamas and the bathrobe on top. I had to try and sleep wearing my thermal ski leggings and ski socks.
Thankfully the housekeeping staff gave us a portable radiator the next morning. There is clearly some sort of problem with the heating system in Room 17. Feedback from numerous other guests in the hotel was that they had to turn the temperature thermostat control down from 3 to 2 - we had our turned to 5 and it made no difference.
We made our representations to Thomas (Front desk manager ?) and he said that he would pass our feedback to the owners.
When I went to pay the room bill balance we had been given a 10% discount for the first night - we were disgusted - irrelevant but our bar bill the first night exceeded that amount !!
