Deux atouts de taille pour cet hôtel, son spa, qui compte parmi les plus cotés de Séville, et une très belle piscine sur le toit.
Accolé à l’église de la Magdalena, l’ancien Majestic, cher aux yeux des Sévillans, a toujours été le lieu de rencontre des personnalités du monde taurin ; avant les corridas, les toreros viennent encore se vêtir dans l’une de ses suites. Depuis qu’il a été restauré en 2000, et rénové en 2007 par de célèbres designers comme Starck et Wanders, ce 5-étoiles ouvert en 1929 pour l’Exposition ibéro-américaine est tout simplement splendide. Dans l’entrée, un vaste hall moderne surmonté d’une immense coupole donne un aperçu du standing et du confort de l'hôtel. Grandes chambres lumineuses et douillettes, avec grand lit, télévision écran plat, mobilier design-chic. Avec, proximité du musée des Beaux-Arts oblige, chaque étage dédié à un peintre, sept au total, et Goya étant au dernier. Sans oublier le Spa, l’un des plus appréciés à Séville, avec hammam, sauna, bains turcs, salle de sports... Depuis 2017 une belle piscine sur le toit. C’est le lieu où devait séjourner Obama lors de son séjour à Séville, en juillet 2016, si l’actualité ne l’avait conduit à annuler son voyage. Si vous n’avez pas la chance d’y loger, vous pouvez venir assister aux spectacles de flamenco qui y sont régulièrement proposés au bar de l’hôtel.

Sin duda resaltar el servicio del personal de cafetería y comedor. Buscaron todo tipo de opciones para ofrecerle al niño y adecuar su cena, todo ello fuera de carta.

Recuerdos desde Bilbao
We booked five days for our honeymoon in one of the suites on the 7th floor including a big terrace and jacuzzi.
ROOM: the room was spacious and overall clean, in particular the bathroom was quite modern. There was some wear here and there, nothing terrible, but for a 5* at 1k€ a night (roughly) it’s probably deserving of some renovations. I shouldn’t have to call maintenance to extend the sunroof, and the toilet door shouldn’t jump off the rails.
HOTEL: the hotel’s location is fantastically central, and you’re in walking distance to many things the city has to offer. The Red Level lounge underperforms, it’s a small room with some drinks and so-so snacks. I see no reason to spend any time here ever other than while waiting for your room to be ready.
SERVICE: our room was turned several times a day, staff is always super friendly. A special shoutout goes to the really nice cleaning staff. When we had to call for maintenance or anything else the response was always prompt. My expectation for a 5* has been fully met here.
FOOD: we ordered breakfast via room service one day, and this was hands down the biggest letdown. For 15€ for a single avocado toast I expect better than a soggy slice of toast, it was inedible. Our complaint to this was never met with any response — absolutely not worthy of a 5*! The minibar is, as everywhere else, hopelessly overpriced, and makes you just not want to use it at all, what a shame. As for regular breakfast or the restaurants, we didn’t use those — and why would you? There’s so much amazing food in the area, go out and experience it!
AMENITIES: we really only used our private jacuzzi. We certainly enjoyed it, though it was visibly a bit older, and we had to call maintenance once due to the water level. But relaxing in it in the afternoon sun high above the city was a real pleasure.
All in all I’d say the hotel is a great choice and performs really well in general, though falls just a tad bit short for a 5* at this price point. We don’t regret staying here at all, though, and had a great time. The biggest shame is the really poor room service food, when enjoying breakfast on our private terrace would otherwise be a unique experience.
