Hôtel branché, avec restaurant, bar et salle de gym en plein cœur du quartier des théâtres à New York.
Coqueluche des New-Yorkais depuis son ouverture en 1990, le Paramount est situé au cœur du quartier des théâtres. Une situation pratique mais pas très excitante. L'intérêt est ailleurs. D'abord, le personnel est jeune et beau, des garçons et filles moulés dans des smokings noirs Armani. Ensuite, le décor de Philippe Starck – hall sombre, lustre géant, canapés de couleur disposés sous l'escalier ouvert en un arc de cercle – séduit par son look intrigant, trendy et décadent. Au premier étage, un restaurant ceinture et domine le hall derrière ses vitres fumées. Au même niveau, la salle de gym, forcément moderne. Une avalanche de petits trucs malins, amusants et sophistiqués, jusqu'à la pointe des allumettes noires à bout doré distribuées dans les 610 chambres. Plutôt petites, mais intimement sexy : tapis à grands carreaux noirs et blancs, couvre-lit blanc, table et lampe design, murs laqués, et grand tableau à cadre doré. On n'oubliera pas le bar, l'un des plus in de New York, et une merveilleuse salle de jeux. Vous cherchiez une nouvelle race d'hôtels ?

Water and coffee advertised as free is only available on 4th floor. Not every floor or even in your room. Having said that the ice machine is broken a d there hasnt been any coffee yet.... You pay a "facility" charge which I was told was for the gym and bar. We won't use gym and bar is not free! How is it a facility. You pay extra for 4☆ its the facilities that make a hotel 4☆ so why are you paying $120 extra again. Lers face it coffee making facilities 5 floors away can hardly be collected in your pjs. The hotel is old. Dingy. Smelly. Staff are unhelpful. Fans are old. Windows and blinds are dirty and dusty. Right now it's the worst money ive ever spent and its taken an age to save it.
I waited at the reception desk for ages yesterday to discuss clothes storage problem, while listening to staff in room chatting and laughing and not one person came out to assist.

Advertised room service there is none. Unless you consider maid service room service.
No food to order to your room. But they said. The bar grill serves food. No. They dont its just a bar. Unless it was on another floor, which they Should make you aware of at check in. Only a bakery café exists. Used the shower in the bathroom then tub clogged so I was showering standing in the water. Finally after waiting and hour for them not to fix the door. We met with the hotel manager and were given another room. Also the floors outside of the lobby smell like unwashed hairy armpits.
Meanwhile being pressed for time to see a show. Overall would not be staying here again based on my experience.
