We highly recommend Luna Inn B&B.
It is reasonably priced, comfortable and clean in a lovely property, close to the airport (rate included pick up and drop off), with a lovely breakfast included, and provided a low cost and convenient rental car for our journey around Costa Rica. There are nice places to eat nearby. Esteban, Ariana & Ariana’s mum looked after us like family, nothing was any trouble and Esteban was helpful on everything from advice on what to see and getting around. Luna Inn was our home base while we tripped around Costa Rica, so we came and went a few times and couldn’t have been happier with our choice :-)

Sehr angenehmer Start in den Urlaub. Vom Flughafen super zu erreichen, Zimmer waren nachts angenehm kühl und durch den Moskito-Schutz gab es auch keine Moskitos im Zimmer!
Der Host und das Personal waren suuuper nett und standen mit Rat und Tat bei Seite. Das Frühstück ist traditionell und richtig lecker! Es gibt immer gefiltertes Wasser, was man bedenkenlos trinken kann. Und wer mag, kann auch direkt dort einen Mietwagen buchen. Also als Start in den Urlaub super! Immer wieder.

I stayed at Luna Inn for a conference and could not have made a better choice. Ariana communicated with me prior to my visit and organized an airport pickup which made my arrival in Costa Rica very easy. The B&B itself is clean, airy and beautifully decorated. I slept so well. Breakfast was delicious and the super friendly staff was attentive to dietary restrictions and preferences. The backyard garden is a little oasis, offering mountain views, fruit trees, hammocks, and the spectacle of busy leafcutter ants when I was visiting. The b&b was in walking distance of the National Convention Center, a supermarket and several restaurants, the neighborhood felt safe to me, a solo female traveler. Esteban was offering lots of insight for getting around Costa Rica and was super attentive. Staying at the Luna Inn was the perfect, homey antidote to a busy conference week. I would definitely come back, be it for work or personal travel. Thank you Ariana, Esteban and Nelly, que les vaya muy muy bien!

We used Luna Inn as a base for our own 'hub & spoke' trip around Costa Rica. Over 3 weeks we stayed 5 nights in total. Ideal for the airport, friendly team, safe neighbourhood to walk around, range of restaurants & supermarket about a 15 minute stroll away. They offer transportation & car hire too. So much nicer than a bland hotel chain.

Luna Inn is in a quiet, safe, and walkable area. It is just 15 minutes from the International Airport, 10 minutes from downtown at Heredia and Alajuela, 15 minutes from downtown San Jose, and they are only 5 minutes from the Costa Rica Convention Center, which was holding an anime event while we were therel. Access to the beach is just down route 27.
It's a short walk to a cluster of restaurants - Mexican, Indian, Argentinian, and the MOOSE Restaurant, where we ate every evening. Great food and excellent service.
The host, Èsteban, speaks excellent English and will help with all your needs. Good breakfast. Large backyard to relax in and listen to the e birds.
They also rent vehicles with discounts for their clients.

Amazing experience!
- Clean, spacious rooms, with huge bathrooms (plenty of hot water with great water pressure)
- The best breakfast (complementary) we had during our week in Costa Rica: just look at all those fresh ingredients
- The backyard is beautiful and looks like a great place to relax

They offer CAR RENTAL!!!
I can only agree with the very good feedbacks here. Place and staff are amazing. We really liked our first night in Costa Rica. What i really want to point out though is, that they also have a couple of cars,which they rent out. Its the easiest process one can think of and the deal was unbeatable. We got a super reliable car,which was parked in front of the house and we droped off easily after our 2 weeks holiday. All went smooth and made a huge difference to our holiday outcome. Just got back from 8 days in CR. Stayed the first night after a long flight in San Jose at Cariari Bed and Breakfast. Maybe 10 mins from the airport and run by Laurie who lived in Boston for many years. She's been in CR for 31 years and knows everyone and has been everywhere. Very knowledgeable about all things CR. She arranged for our rental Toyota RAV 4 to be delivered to the B&B in the morning after our nights stay and that went perfect. The house is maybe a 5 min walk to a small grocery and a bunch of good restaurants. The rooms were comfy and the breakfast was excellent. Reasonably priced. Our son and his wife were flying American out of the country with a 5pm flight that American changed to a 7am flight mid week while we were there. I sent Laurie a message and she had a room for them and got them a taxi for a 5am ride to the airport. Exceptional service all around!

Luna Inn B&B is a great place to stay for many reasons. It is a great location, close to the airport and also a nice neighborhood with beautiful mountain views. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe staying there and walking to the nearby restaurants. The staff are extremely welcoming and the breakfast each morning was delicious! And a huge bonus is they can help you coordinate a rental car prior to your arrival. I would definitely recommend Luna Inn B&B and will stay here again.

Luna Inn is beautiful. All the staff we spoke with were strong English speakers. There is gorgeous woodwork throughout, handcrafted by the owners themselves. They have several secure doors and gates to prevent unauthorized entry. They have a lovely little sculpture garden in their courtyard and have plans for further improvements in their backyard that already offers a beautiful view of the cityscape and the mountains. We were there in the summer and the entire place was opened up with a lovely breeze throughout. The workmanship throughout the B&B was superior to anywhere else we stayed during our trip, including many places that were dramatically more expensive. We especially appreciated the furnishings and quality of the work in the bathroom.
I cannot praise Esteban enough, who I believe is a part-owner. Not only did he renovate and decorate the property, he also was instrumental in helping me navigate San José, not only offering his car for rent but even helping me run around town and find the best places to buy the remaining items for my brother's wedding that was happening later that day. I can't thank him enough. We received a level of care and attention that goes so far above and beyond what we could ever reasonably expect. I would gladly pay twice what they ask to stay there and hope to stay at their sister property during a future trip to Costa Rica. I can't recommend them enough.

What an incredible experience we had at Laurie's bed & breakfast. Laurie was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything! and helped us to customize our time in Costa Rica. She had great suggestions on where to go, what to do, and places to eat and we enjoyed all of it!!! She definitely made our trip memorable. She is a very gracious and welcoming host. She and Miriam made us the most delicious breakfasts daily, I especially loved the pineapple pancakes, as well as a yummy snack when we arrived! They were truly there to take care of our every need and it was much appreciated! Miriam is an angel and the sweetest lady ever! Such a great experience! Cant wait to go back and see more of Costa Rica and see Laurie & Miriam again!

This was our first time vacationing in Costa Rica and Esteban at Luna Inn made my husband and I feel at home.
Esteban arranged for a taxi to pick us up from airport at midnight and stayed up to welcome us. The room was spacious, clean, cool and comfortable. They prepared a delicious gallo-pinto for breakfast with coffee. We laid in the hammocks and took in Luna Inn’s beautiful garden. The staff arranged for the taxi to take us to pick up our rental car.
Esteban and entire staff were extremely attentive to all of our needs. We highly recommend the Luna Inn and we are looking forward to our upcoming stay at the Luna Lodge. “Pura Vida”

Great location near the airport and golf course. Very clean, comfortable accommodation for the price point! They can also do your airport transport which is super convenient, and they rent a few vehicles which we’d definitely look into next trip down. The family is very helpful and accommodating.

Laurie, Miriam, Louis and team were all just absolutely fabulous. She's a character and an animal lover, full of advice and tips, handled my rental car for me, and the place is just spectacular. First day of my son and I's trip and I already feel centered and at peace after a crazy 6 months of chaos and family upheaval at home in the states. Dozens of amazingly well cared for, friendly beautiful horses to snuggle RIGHT next door (might put my son in lessons there too!), river running behind the house that you can hear with the jungle sounds at night, juice bar + healthy farmers market + DELICIOUS sushi restaurant in walking distance around the corner... couldn't ask for a better way to kick off our 3-month Costa Rica journey! Love ya Laurie, Caden and I will be back!

Tuvimos una muy buena experiencia en Luna Inn. Se encuentra en un área tranquila y segura. Las habitaciones son amplias y bonitas. Las habitaciones cuentan con caja fuerte, baño privado y ventilador. También están equipadas con mat de yoga y algunos implementos para ejercitarse. Cuenta con agua caliente, wi fi, estacionamiento y tiene un jardín bastante amplio y lindo. Puedes optar por el desayuno y lavandería por un valor adicional. El personal es muy amable, el lugar se mantiene limpio. Se encuentra cerca del aeropuerto de San José. 100% recomendable

Beautiful place. Lori was a wonderful host and drove us around the town. Miriam was also very nice. The food was delicious and the place itself is gorgeous

Laurie from Cariari Bed and Breakfast is simply amazing! While we did not have the opportunity to meet in person due to weather delays and a cancelled flight; all of our communications were pleasant and professional. Weeks leading up to our honeymoon, I communicated with Laurie regarding transportation needs and requests. The day of our flight, we kept her informed of our ever-changing flight status that ultimately was cancelled. She even bought us a pizza because we were supposed to arrive well past midnight when everything would be closed. When we plan our next Costa Rica vacation, we will definitely be staying at her B&B because her service was incredible...and we weren't even able to stay there! I HIGHLY recommend the Cariari Bed and Breakfast!
