I reserved this room based on my trust of the Wyndham brand which is now gone. The pools are dirty and haven't been cleaned in quite some time with random junk and trash floating on the surface . The main pool needs to be repainted so badly that paint chips are floating in the water. I requested a towel and the lady simply said they didn't have any. The pool was EMPTY of people (for good reason), they didn't run out. They simply were not providing any service. The property was built in the 60s and our room doesn't appear to have ever been upgraded. The couch has visible stains to the point I won't set my back pack on it. The carpet appears to be original and is the cleanliness is also concerning. The shower heads shoots a single straight water stream thats nearly painful. We laid on the bed and can feel springs in the mattress. Our view out the window is a rusty old building.

This place is just absolutely wonderful. The bmrooms are beautiful and clean. The property is well maintained with 2 pools and oversized jacuzzi. One of the pools has one of those poolside, swimup bars. There is also a fitness center with cardio, free weights and machine equipment. Not a lot of room to move around. Probably could not do walking lunges or a farmers carry in the place, but plenty of machines to choose from. And I never had to wait for any equipment although I am not travelling in the high season.
The staff are just fantastic. Housekeeping is always with smiles on their faces and the rooms are kept up very well.
They offer a breakfast option... my advice, take it. They always had scrambled eggs, rice and beans, hashbrowns and fried plantains. The other option changed up. Sometimes, there was a delicious sausage offering too. Many different types of breads were offered also and they always had a rather large variety of baked goods in the middle. Bit sized treats filled with chocolate, lemon cream, hazelnut, Omani chocolate. Plenty to satisfy any sweet tooth! Breakfast is all you can eat, but remember not to eat too much on vacation!
There is a casino on the property. Not a big gamer although I did donate to the poker tournament they held on Sunday afternoon. (By donate, I mean played and lost. They say if you don't see the sucker at the table, then you are the sucker. I didn't see any suckers this time though. ????)
There is a little patio Cafe inside serving the rich Costa Rican Coffees and a great offering of cakes.
Then there is the real Cafe in the Hotel. I ate the Ceviche nearly every day. Absolutely delicious. I also indulged in their wings which are a great value for the money and delicious.
You can't go wrong here. Great place. Terrific location. Fantastic staff.

Several little issues that amounted to an uncomfortable stay. Do not recommend staying there if you can find a different hotel around the same price and convenient location.

Checking in took a long time. The hotel seems far from things you would want to do while traveling in Costa Rica. The staff is kind and nice. Perhaps stay only overnight and plan to move on the other areas that are a long drive away. The food in the area of San José is a good experience for a day. And the complimentary breakfast at the hotel is good. The room was okay, not bad at all, not great. Just at comfort.

Old humid smell rooms. Nothing like their pictures showed online. When checked in they put me on floor one with a beat up hotel 6 room with a garbage aisle view. When complained at first they had no other rooms until I offered to pay more a room came available, they “upgraded” me to floor 4 which the “upgrade” had a fridge and old pool view with a clogged tub and brown water when turned in shower head. Funny thing I noticed when checked in my room was in the 6000 range they crossed off that and changed it to the 1141 room. When complained they put me back in the 6000 range room which was on the 4th floor. Will never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone.

El hotel es muy antiguo y no cuenta con buen mantenimiento, pocas comodidades. Las alfombras estaban todas sucias desde las habitaciones hasta las del pasillo y la iluminación en habitaciones es pésima. Los cables que conectan las lámparas bajo las camas están enredados. Solo dejan una toalla por día. Los desayunos son muy malos, todos los días es el mismo y no hay variedad. Las personas de recepción son muy amables pero el hotel está en decadencia.

If you are on a group tour, chances are good you’ll spend 1 night here at either end of your trip as it’s very close to the airport. But otherwise, avoid this hotel. We were placed in a 4th floor room in tower 6 directly beneath an event space. We had to suffer through loud music that the hotel staff seemed powerless to stop. But the larger question is who allows a band to play music above guest rooms in the first place?
Tip: it’s about a 10-minute walk to shops and restaurants. Also, there is a nice neighborhood south of the hotel.

Mainly. I was able to get 15% discount. 15 to 20 minutes from the airport. I couldn't get nothing better for the price.
Now. Outstanding service. Breakfast was included, one water pool for children and some outdoors jacuzzis, two water pools for adults.
There was a casino next the Hotel.
You do have to set up on time airport hotel shuttle pickup and dropoff; It's part of their service.
This place will be great for a person with a large family. It was great deal for the price.

We had the misfortune of staying there end of August, the building 600 all floors are moldy . They use very strong cleaning sprays to cover the smell of mold , stay away from this place if you don’t want to get sick . Wyndham should be ashamed of themselves . It is a shame that they get away with putting peoples lives at risk . Very disappointing

El hotel esta ubicado en una zona tranquila de la ciudad muy cerca del centro de la capital, aunque en ciertos horarios existe un congestionamiento en el tráfico muy grande, aunque la zona es muy tranquila existe el inconveniente de no encontrar negocios cerca, solo existe un pequeño centro comercial a unos 15 minutos a pie del hotel, que no cuente con muchos negocios, dentro del hotel hay una tienda de suvenirs y una agencia de viajes, las habitaciones son cómodas un poco pequeñas, y falta un poco de mantenimiento. Por lo demás la atención es amable por parte del persona, y tiene amplio espacio para realizar eventos como capacitaciones, seminarios, graduaciones etc.

This was our one night stay in San Jose. It was pretty close to the airport and gated upon arrival. Check in was easy and the property was large. They had several pools. Our room was a double and it was large and had a huge bathroom. We slept well and had a good night's rest before our 3-4 hr drive the next day. They did lose power in the am which was a bummer cause I couldn't style my hair but it's to be expected when traveling. I would recommend staying here for a stop.

Un hotel amplio y limpio, con buena ubicación, un excelente diseño arquitectónico, que contrasta con la vegetación del los jardines del hotel; cómodas habitaciones, especialmente dotadas para su descanso; acompañanadas de una agradable zona húmeda, especial para la lectura y toma de sol; todo el calor humano de su personal, quienes le brindan una excelente atención y la exquisita gastronomía con un completo desayuno bufet.

Guess it depends what you want, the hotel is a little old but rooms are very spacious.
They only serve breakfast, but there is a restaurant right outside food is regular nothing spectacular.
Pool is good, gym is OK.
Close to the airport, use uber airport taxis overcharge way to much to take you.
Traveler tip: if you are traveling for leisure or vacation and need a place to stay for a few nights before you commute elsewhere its fine.
If you are traveling for work, it's best to look something near Santa Ana or Pozos or Sabana.
They only serve breakfast, but there is a restaurant right outside food is regular nothing spectacular.

Loved our stay here. Price was very reasonable for what you get and the amenities. Great pools and a hot tub, that is actually hot. Enjoyed the games area with a pool table where you can kill some time. The room was nice and cozy with a walk out right to the pool area which was awesome. Will be our go to spot next time we’re in SJO. Convenient location near airport but otherwise not much around nearby.

En el Restaurante Tropicala se sirve el desayuno buffet (15 dólares USA) DE Las 6:00 a las 10:00 hrs el menú muy limitado y siempre es lo mismo!!! Gallo pinto(arroz con frijoles negros) típico de Costa Rica, huevos revueltos, plátanos fritos y ensalada!!!!! Claro hay pancitos, cereal, jugo de naranja exclusivamente, agua y café!! La verdad URGE una variedad a ese bufet
