We had an amazing meal at Maria’s Tavern, the food was absolutely delicious (taramasalata, fennel pie, stuffed zucchini flowers, grilled fish). The team running the restaurant is very attentive. They prepared a special pasta for our 7-year old and he loved it. They also have an excellent wine selection, which is a big plus!

Heerlijke gegeten met vrienden, na een pittige wandeling op Spinalonga.
Het is er netjes en schoon met een hele gezellige gastheer.

Heerlijk gegeten. Erg vriendelijke bediening, Lekker eten. Met veel liefde bereid. Gezellig gesprek met de gastheer. Mensen zo vriendelijk en gastvrij. We gaan zeker terug in de toekomst.

We were the first customers of the season. My son had mussels and he loved them. I had seafood linguine and it was lovely (although some of the fish bits were a challenge for an English uneducated palete lol) lovely little taverna and friendly staff

Bardzo dobre jedzenie w przystępnej cenie. Koniecznie trzeba spróbować ośmiornicy.

Hier wird mit Liebe gekocht. Wir waren von der Vielfalt der verschiedenen Geschmacksnoten überrascht und begeistert. Die Gerichte sind extrem schön angerichtet. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis und wir haben es sehr genossen!

At first we were a bit hesitant, because place was empty and looked a little bit touristic. But in the end it turned out to be, that we were actually lucky, because we had a table with the best view, and it was a great food experienc. People started to come around 8pm.
The staff is friendly, is ready to help you out with choices and also with opening the fish later on.
Selection of fresh sea food. Dishes, where they use frozen ingredients is marked with a *, that's very handy.
We had bulgur, sea bream, greek salad, chunky potatoes and grilled cheese - everything was incredible delicious! Selection of local wines is also great!
Definitely recommend. There is a large parking in the village at the sea, just 2 minutes walking distance away

Prima restaurant met ruime keuze, vriendelijk onthaal en lekker eten. Prijzen zijn ok, ook al zijn ze net iets hoger dan in een taverna. De octopus salad was heel lekker, de slow cooked pork shoulder was dat ook en redelijk gigantisch.

The man beckoning us into the tavern was very friendly but the moment we got seated by the server inside, we noticed his terrible attitude. He was incredibly grumpy and even a normal request seemed like too much work. We also overheard him being equally rude to other customers so we realized it wasn’t just us. We had planned to have lunch here but ended up only ordering an appetizer so we could leave as quickly as possible. His bad mood and attitude made our experience terrible despite the appetizer being very good.

Superbe langouste ????
Un cadre idyllique avec vue mer, des hôtes accueillants. Nous avons pris une langouste pour deux elle était délicieuse et très copieuse.
Je suis ravie. ☺️

Really good food, everything was delicious.

We had a mussel risotto and really enjoy the use of lemon, star anis to create a unique flavour, the grilled sea bream was tasty too and the waiter put quite a show to remove the fish bones.

The baklava was the best we ve had, it came a bit warm, tasted like honey and butter with some nice touches of pistachios. That was perfect.

Finally they offered an honey/herbs raki that you can find at the local daily and the sweetness made it very pleasant.

Would love to go back one day. Thanks

We had a great meal for 7 of us. The restaurant is a bit tucked away at the far end of Plaka which means it was not full, but the food was absolutely excellent.

Calamars frais péché du jour, avec des frites maison, un accueil chaleureux et des plats vraiment délicieux et authentique.
