Let’s start with check in: “Room ready at 3:00pm” ~ After traveling more than 6,000 miles to Venice, we arrive at the hotel. We were kept waiting in the lobby for about 90 minutes. No welcome drink, no water, nothing offered for the inconvenience of delay. Not even an apology.
We waited at the restaurant-bar where, after 15 minutes of being shown our seat, a waiter finally came to ask us for our order. (There were only 3 other tables with customers at the time.).
When we arrived in the room, it was pitiful. (We are staying in the hotel’s best suite facing the sea at nearly 2,000 Euros per night with tax.)
The coffee machine has mold in it and a used coffee capsule.
The furniture looks like it was procured from a pawn shop, showing what would be best described as decades of aging.
The balcony had not been jet-washed and is moldy.
Bring your own hair-dryer as the one the hotel provides is certainly not a Dyson or anything close to the last 30 years of tech.
The bathroom looks like something out of a hospital or horror film.
This room needs significant repair.
We feel sad for the staff here as they have to endure this. We imagine we are not the only people to have such an experience based on watching other customers make complaints about issues.
We drove there with car ferries that connect from Tronchetto to Lido.
The breakfast was fantastic that so many drinks and food to choose from.
The staff was friendly and courteous, however, the cleaning staff was rude and seemed to be bothered by us asking any questions.
We also had a pair of sunglasses go missing from our room when went down for dinner. That was extremely disappointing.
The Blue Bar was not busy, neither was the hotel, and we enjoyed the snacks and food they had available at all hours. Particularly the tiramisu (omg, so amazing).
Roberta…one of the managers, went over and above creating a map for us, sowing us to get to places in Venice for our trip there the following day and told us about the nearby islands of Burano and Murano and where we should go. She was outstanding.
Overall our experience was pretty great
Note: don’t plan on taking their complimentary shuttle to and from the train station in Venice if you have luggage with you. They cannot take you. Plan to take a private taxi or public shuttle instead.
The view is spectacular, you are sat on the seafront, the hotel building itself just takes your breath away. Service is average.
Regrettably, the negatives far outweighed the positives. One major issue was the persistent pushiness about cleaning the room while we were still inside, which was extremely bothersome. Additionally, there was a lapse in providing fresh towels, and the attitude of the staff delivering them left much to be desired.
The breakfast experience was horrendous, with the worst eggs I've ever tasted and subpar coffee. Even the cappuccinos fell far below expectations. The most disappointing part was the dinner. Despite the restaurant having only one occupied table, they claimed all others were reserved, leaving me with no choice but to dine at the bar. The meal was nothing short of a disaster, with old bread and uncleaned tables. I finished my meal, paid, and promptly left, only to find the restaurant still empty.
It's disheartening when a hotel fails to accommodate its guests, especially when there are plenty of empty tables. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the improvement of the hotel's services.
