Y en mi opinión no es un hotel de 5 estrellas ya que en mi habitación en el sofá cama al abrirlo estaba el cobertor todo sucio e incluso habían papas fritas,al estar todo sucio me empezó a picar partes del cuerpo.
Aparte el servicio de los restaurantes no es muy rápido,hay que esperar mucho para poder entrar y para que le traigan las bebidas igual.Pero la comida si es bueno.
Al igual el servicio de los carritos;al estar en el lobby esperando para ir a la habitación dura mucho en llegar y por eso se acumula gente y no caben en todos;está claro que al hotel le falta más personal.
Si se disfruta más que todo si va acompañado,la actividad de espuma es muy bonita si mide más de 1.70cm
Otra cosa es las luces que se encienden en la entrada o a la par de la cama,esos interruptores controlan todas las luces de la habitación;y eso puede ser un poco molesto si vas acompañado.

So I was trying to leave a review but it doesn’t look like that is possible on the website. I’m assuming it is because they dont want to have to delete all the negative reviews everyday. I will say I was there recently and it was my first “all inclusive” I’ve been to. I was very disappointed. There is nothing near the resort so once you are there you are stuck there. No casino, no golf corse, no fishing pier, really no alcohol ( see below). Everything extra we spent money on was even worse.

6 hour fishing trip… we went out with 3 other boats. Our boat turned right and the others continued to deeper water and after 6 hours we had brought in 2 needle fish ( salt water gar). Once getting back we found out all the other boats caught 10-20 mahi.

Jet Ski tour… our motor went out on our jet ski in the cove we were in and we had to limp back to the resort and beg for our money back and finally got it.

Food… all inclusive means some apps. But if you want the good stuff bust out the credit card or be prepared to have your room number ready. Buffet, the fruit was good, pizza was ok everything else was trash. Tex max took FOREVER. Steakhouse everything was extra, hibachi had good rice but everything else was ehh. Fuel was decent. Didn’t go to Italian place due to other people’s reviews I heard while there. Honestly the burger place was the best food place there but was really salty. I can get a burger at home.

Alcohol…After drinking for 2 days, because this was the worst trip I went on, and not feeling anything, on the third day I made it a point to get drunk. On the 3rd day I had a total of 15 tequila shots, 5 cocktails and 5 beers and was fine. No stumbling. No falling. Just disappointment. There is no whiskey, scotch only. All alcohol tasted like pool water because I’m pretty sure that is what it is was. I was talking to the staff and was requesting a certain whiskey, that they had at the airport but I didn’t get because I figured an all inclusive would have everything, which goes for 31.00 here in the US as well as the airport. They told me for 500.00 they would bring me a bottle.

This was the biggest waste of money and time. I will not be returning to any planet Hollywood and I may never revisit Costa Rica because of how bad the experience was.

To say this was a 5 star resort would be stretching the truth. Very disappointing stay.

The resort itself is beautiful, as are the rooms. The housekeeping staff is wonderful and kept the room clean. The resort is on a hill, but the golf carts came by very often, so it was not an issue. Pools were good.

The front desk staff called constantly, harassing calls asking how everything was, did we need anything, etc. It would be nice if they did not do it so often. One day, it was 6 calls in less than an hour, and it got so bad we unplugged our phone so we could rest. Then other days, calls about 10 minutes apart asking the same questions over and over.

The star class service was not worth the extra $$, we barely heard from our butler, he made our reservations and that was all. There is no "Green Room" this is the same room that you use to check in. There is a star class pool and it includes a restaurant for breakfast. There is no topshelf alcohol here.

The drinks are terrible. The alcohol is very watered down, and the drinks tasted like water. They used very cheap liquor in the drinks in the first place, then watered them down. When we asked about a different bottle, we were told it is for decoration. I'm not much of a drinker, 1 or 2 drinks, and I feel it. I could drink all day here and never get a buzz.

The food....I could go on for paragraphs, but I just summarize. Room service, would come cold if they rememberedto bring it. Restaurants were meh. The burger joint gave me food poisoning. I don't think we ate one hot meal while here.

Tried this hotel it was super expensive. No wheelchair accessibility, even though their site says the facility is accessible. But when we arrived the wheelchair couldn't e en get to the pool!
They did refund the money because we couldn't stay.

Sadly this resort disappointed me. The service is terrible. I’m saying it in present tense since I’m still presently checked into The hotel. The food is mediocre. The wait times are bad. It’s hard to get anyone to bring you something to drink let alone refill your water. At Gusto, they were supposed to serve us the appetizer bread first, but we were given it last? We didn’t know the restaurant offered dessert until we were ready to walk out since we finished our meals. Like the lack of communication is bad too. Tonight, I was really upset with the hostess at Blue Star. We can clearly see there were open tables available at the restaurant, but she tells us that it’s a 40 minute wait. Okay. Fine. I’ll wait. So 30 minutes into my wait she seats a couple before us? I did confront the hostess but she played stupid. I got really angry after that. Oh, there was a refrigerator in the Blue Star that held all their up-sale beer and tequila, which was extremely loud. You can’t even hear yourself think in there. It was stupid loud. The drinks are watered down. The location is far from everything. The beach is nothing spectacular. I will say the rooms are huge, clean and nice. Costa Rica is beautiful and worth visiting. All my excursions off the resort were great and so were my tour guides.

I just wouldn’t recommend staying at this particular resort. Apparently, Marriott recently bought them out or is there new management. Hopefully they retrain their workers.

Middle of nowhere. They don’t let you out without verifying a million questions.

Try to bring a “guest” and they charge you 150.

They offer shuttle but delay it to push taxi service for 76 bucks to get out.

Disaster vacation. Nexus Tours is scamming and are third party. Hotel won’t help in this case.

Thermostat is not controlled in the room

Shuttles beep outside room constantly from morning to night transporting people. They pull u turns and beep all day consistently.

The Nexus Tours division on the first floor is a third party vendor. Hotel will not assist with issues.

They charged my card for a car rental and claimed they were not able to get deposit.

They took 220 for rental and refused to return and did not provide car rental.

Este resort se ha convertido en mi favorito, estuve con mi familia en una habitación perfecta y cerca de absolutamente todo, el área de piscina y las actividades son maravillosas, el restaurante bufet es super completo y los restaurantes a la carta espectaculares. Los chicos de animación son super simpáticos y esteban pin pin nuestro guía de Kayak fue asombroso. Realmente recomiendo este lugar

Mi esposa y yo nos hospedamos en PH la última semana de septiembre.
En mi opinión tuvimos la mejor habitación
(#21104) ubicada en el centro del hotel y en medio de todos los restaurantes.
Les comento que desde el momento que hicimos el check in hasta el día de nuestro check out TODO fue muy agradable.
Aclaró que declinamos hacer un upgraded para el nivel Star Class sin embargo el trato que recibimos por parte de los colaboradores del hotel fue muy EXCELENTE.
Durante esos días pudimos visitar y disfrutar cada uno de los restaurantes comenzando con OVERTIME SPORTS BAR, SO CAL GOURMET FOOD EMPORIUM, EAST SUSHI, BLUE STAR TEX-MEX CANTINA(en este conocimos un mesero muy AMABLE nos sugirió varias opciones del menú, su nombre es
Alonzo) SUNSET STRIP STEAKHOUSE & GRILL debo detenerme aquí y mencionar que cada uno de estos restaurantes cuenta con platos muy exquisitos y de muy alta calidad pero sin duda GUSTO ITALIAN TRATTORIA fue nuestro
FAVORITO no solo por la calidad, textura y exquisitez de la comida italiana sino porque su personal comenzando por Samantha

Eduardo, Cesar &Bryan(Chefs) y todos los demás que ahí laboran Mariana, Jefferson, Yoselin y Ronald fueron los responsables que cenáramos ahí 3 veces, y nuestra ultima cena en GUSTO fue una verdadera sorpresa pues desde que entramos al restaurante una mesa especial adornada con un mantel planeado, flores e utensilios muy bonitos nos estaba esperando en verdad que nos hicieron sentir muy especial. De corazón ❤️muchas gracias a todos, ustedes nos motivan a querer regresar a PH.
Antes de terminar mi reseña quiero también reconocer el arduo trabajo que ejercen Kriscia y Rosa en la cafetería FUEL, muchas gracias por cada cafe latte, iced latte y ice cream que nos prepararon con mucho ganas y entusiasmo.
En conclusión nosotros recomendamos HOTEL PLANET HOLLYWOOD como la mejor opción para pasar unas vacaciones como Estrella de

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!

I'm from Costa Rica and have always loved our hotels because of the delicious food, beautiful locations and amazing service.

I went very excited to this hotel because it was ranked as comparable to Westin Reserva Conchal (a spectacular hotel) but to my surprise this hotel was completely TERRIBLE. Bucketing my review below:

Service: guy from check in had terrible attitude, did not give clear instructions on hotel amenities. When we got to the room the concierge(which I have no idea what these people do because they are ZERO helpful) told us that they don’t bring our luggage and made us go up the hill again to pick it up. The people that work there don’t even know where restaurants are, when they are open, nothing.

Waiting time: To enter the restaurants we had to make long lines especially at lunch time given only ONE of seven restaurants is open for the entire hotel. Shuttles take forever to pick you up in most cases we had to walk up the steep hill because we had already been waiting for 30min. When you are in restaurant you might even have to wait 30min to get the drink you ordered for.

Food: it was HORRIBLE!! The options are very limited. Nothing was clearly labeled and everything was very disorganized giving us a hard time to find good food options. In the pool area there is only one restaurant that offers hamburgers and French fries only. Some of the food even looked and tasted like left overs from the day before

Activities: there is NOTHING to do at this hotel. They offer very limited activities. Kayak experience is included which is nice but once we got there to do the activity nobody gave us clear instructions the guide went off by himself and left us behind, didn’t even bring water for us in case of emergency.

The rooms are cute and have most of the items you would typically need . However, the service felt out of touch , most of the employees acted bothered when you requested for services apart from the employees at the steak house which is the only reason I gave the hotel a 3 star . Drinks are very very watered down . Christian at the check in desk was rude , definitely left a bad taste. Transport from the hotel to Liberia is $80 which was shocking considering its a 30 min drive . I would schedule pick up and drop off through a private agency in guanacaste ( there’s plenty and they can be reached via whatsapp)

Great value and there is plenty of food options. Rooms are amazing and very clean. I stayed in a room with the ocean view which was simply outstanding.

Pool section is not small nor too big but there were plenty of activities troughout the day. For all fun purposes the pool is basically shutdown and all quiet around 7 pm, so you need to seek for bars or the night show to keep entertained during late night hours.

Walkability is pretty bad since the price for being in a beatiful hillside spot is that walking paths can be pretty steep. So in short, you depend a lot on the shuttle service which is in high demand all the time.

The biggest downside for me was that service can be quite slow if demand is high at some hours. This applies for shuttle service, room service, bars, etc. And I went during low season so my guess this is even worse during high season.

In general an overall 4.5 out of 5 score.

Everything about this hotel is beautiful. Really well maintained and the staff work hard and are courteous. Food and ambience in every restaurant is so well thought out. The entertainment every night is so impressive. I booked through Costco and they have made my life easy by planning out booking of room, flights and transportation. Also assigned me a POC to help me arrange excursions. That's one thing I would recommend,l when at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica, do not go to Nexus. They are not knowledgeable and I would say then only painful part of my experience here. I lost our on good excursions due to their lack of attention and care to listen to what you want to do. NEXUS has pre-packages that they try to push on you without hearing what you want and no flexibility to arrange something even when you pay for a private shuttle. Chris and Luis not helpful, if you go to Nexus go to Marty. I was assigned a private driver where after 4 hours of my 10 hour booked felt like Bill Cosby from the movie Ghost, where he was just driving s fast trying to get the day finished and go home but we might just flip and all die. Lord knows where he took me, because Nexus just gave me a name and no pics. Now Daniel with Costco prepped me for my excursion showing pictures, prepping me with real expectations, what to wear, what to being with me and throughout the experience felt safe and well informed.
Star class was also very limiting, because every where you went on the resort they tell you we can't help you because you have to go through your assigned agent. Who i think was simply overwhelmed and busy. Again lost some time in that. Go with standard and save yourself the money, headache and limitation. The resort has plenty of amenities that's open to all.

Llegar y que las 2 albercas estén cerradas… no hay cerveza en el bar de alberca, tampoco para hacer piñas coladas, ni para mojitos… actividades aburridisimas… eso si, la comida estupenda. El lugar muy bien cuidado, habitaciones confortables, los shows nocturnos muy bien. En mi opinión podrían ser referentes pero se quedan cortos por el servicio.

This hotel was extremely frustrating. We have never stayed at an all-inclusive resort that had consistently POOR service, food quality, and drink availability. We paid for the Star club in order to get premium drinks (which they were often out of by evening).
Could not get service at the beach in the "Star" area. IF someone showed up, they would not want to get you the premium drink.

Your STUCK on property. We tried to get a ride to a neighboring hotel for dinner and our Star Class Personal Concierge quoted us $255 US Dollars for 4 people. Walking it was less then 3/4 of a mile away.

Hace 3 años estuvimos en el hotel , quedamos muy contentos,la segunda y última vez que volvemos (nunca más) fue una decepción, el agua de la piscina caliente, imagínense con los calores que hace en Guanacaste, lo que uno desea es meterse a una piscina que le refresque, pero al meterse se siente el calor del agua cómo si estuvieras entrando a una olla con agua tibia… horrible!! No se pudo usar la piscina era una sensación de calor muy fea más bien le hace sentir a uno mal, hablé con uno de los supervisores y me dijo que no se podía hacer nada al respecto????

Bueno, para continuar, la comida completamente diferente, pura grasa y super salada
Las bebidas, que les digo?! Licor barato..
Aparte que la playa en este hotel es imposible meterse , basura y desechos humanos???? tuvimos que salir todos días a buscar playa para de poder ir , aparte ,la playa no es privada
Debo rescatar que las personas del staff si son muy amables y serviciales, pero cuando se paga por calidad, eso es lo que se debería recibir en todo el sentido de la palabra
Los cambio han sido muchos , lastimosamente se siente cómo estar en un hotel barato
Nuestra experiencia fue fatal, por favor si piensan ir a Guanacaste busquen otras opciones..
si van a invertir en un hotel que no sea Planet Hollywood estarían gastando su dinero

The service was exceptional as well as friendly, and the room was good, unfortunately the food generally had too much salt to our taste as we cook with very little salt.
Highly recommend taking the VIP package, as only VIP guests can make reservations for their restaurants. It also provides you with access to VIP areas and top shelf liquor.
I must add that the hotel recently changed management which I had the pleasure of meeting and I trust we can expect significant improvements for all guests.

Overall the hotel is beautiful, the scenery there is breathtaking and the rooms are very nice.

The service does lack overall in the hotel, either the people working are not trained well enough or they’re just understaffed. You have to ask multiple times for the same thing and other times you just never get what you requested. The hotel requires a shuttle to drive around and the shuttles take a long time to come when called. The restaurant managers are not friendly and try to upsell you with their “wine” packages. They’re accommodating only when you spend extra money there. Anthony was the best waiter we had, very attentive and had superior customer service!

The pool area is nice however they don’t separate the kids from the adult. They also run out of alcohol, which doesn’t make any sense considering it’s an all inclusive. Edwin at the bar was great, very attentive.

The food overall was ok at best. The best restaurant is the Italian one then the steakhouse. The other ones are not worth the wait. They’re not accommodating at all with large groups and try to sell you to “guarantee” your reservation. They also close at 10 so if you get there by 9, they rush you the whole time to order before they close their kitchen, which doesn’t make sense considering the restaurants are always packed.

Some of the buildings don’t have elevators so if you have a lot of luggage, you have to bring it up and down yourself. Some of the rooms lack a/c. I can appreciate the security they have, but they made our shuttle wait over an hour to pick us up when our shuttle service provided our room numbers and names. They never informed us the shuttle was stuck outside and instead tried to sell us their taxi services. It wasn’t until we complained that they let our driver in.

We have been to several all inclusive resorts and considering this is a Planet Hollywood resort, it was disappointing overall. They try to upsell you all the time with their “star class” and their wine packages. It’s not worth the money.

Hotel grande y lindo, se encuentra en pendiente por lo que caminar en él se dificulta, por ej. para trasladarse del Lobby o restaurantes hasta la piscina o playa; lo bueno es que constantemente hay servicio de carritos que suben y bajan a las personas, aún así no es muy amigable para andar en silla de ruedas o con andadera. El sistema de luces en los cuartos me pareció innecesariamente complejo; para ir al baño por ej., hay que activar las luces en la entrada de la habitación o junto a la cama, lo que ocasiona a veces que se enciendan todas a la vez, si uno está acompañado, esto puede ser molesto en la noche o madrugada. Cuando fui, el hotel estaba lleno de gente y esto rebalsó la capacidad de atención del personal, claramente no cuentan con suficientes empleadas para atender cuando el hotel está lleno o cerca de estarlo, para pedir una bebida había que esperar ser atendido porque eran solo tres cocteleras (a lo sumo) en cada bar, para entrar a los restaurantes había que hacer fila y esperar de pie, lo peor es que el día de llegada hubo que esperar 30 minutos en el carro en la aguja de entrada solo para poder pasar y en el lobby otros 15 minutos haciendo fila de pie para el check-in, al final fueron como 50 minutos perdidos para poder ingresar a la habitación y para el check-out la experiencia fue similar; incluso en las actividades diurnas hubo fallos de coordinación, anunciando por ejemplo evento de arquería a cierta hora, del cual algunos instructores sabían de tal evento y otros decían que no y al final simplemente no se realizó (algunos incluso adusieron que nadie llegó y por eso lo quitaron aunque yo estuve presente ahí desde antes de la hora programada y preguntando constantemente por la actividad, de hecho uno de los instructores me dijo "ya casi pasa mi compañera con los arcos y todo lo demás") y en la piscina la música es excesivamente fuerte, a tal grado que hay casi que gritar para poder hablar. Todo el personal del hotel es muy servicial y cortés, Rosa, la que atiende en el café lo recibe a uno con una linda sonrisa, un saludo cortés y un muy buen café preparado al momento ahí mismo. Los restaurantes temáticos no fueron excepcionales pero el buffet es muy variado y todo muy rico. Los espectáculos nocturnos son entretenidos y pasan una película todos los días. Realmente esperaba que las habitaciones fueran temáticas pero no, son estándar, lo único alusivo a películas en el hotel son algunos espacios donde colocan cierta mercancía o información de películas conocidas. Por todo lo anterior, no recomiendo el hotel como uno de 5 estrellas, aunque no lo pasé mal, todo lo contrario, comí y disfruté mucho pero las esperas en filas o para ser atendido me quitaron tiempo muy valioso de mi estadía, definitivamente solo ir en temporada baja y que no haya promociones que mucha gente pueda aprovechar.
