Ce restaurant est une bonne adresse pour manger poisson et fruits de mer. Son nom, qui signifie « la criée », provient du fait que l'ancienne criée d'Alvor se trouve tout près. Les recettes sont simples et ont pour base la cuisine traditionnelle de la région, avec une présentation créative. On retrouve les coquilles Saint-Jacques ou les fameuses crevettes tigrées, fraîchement pêchées. Le menu change tous les jours en fonction des arrivages : il suffit de passer devant la vitrine du restaurant pour voir si la pêche du jour correspond à vos envies. Bons desserts.

As a vegan AND a social person, I find myself many time needing to choose.
In A Lota, it was the best Vegan dish I had in Portugal (here for a
few monthes) and it allowed me to seet with my others who also enjoyed the food.

The starters were very tasty (especially the razor clams), but the Bream was the absolute star of the show. Paired with some excellent Portuguese wine, it was a near perfect meal.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is conveniently located on the main drag through the town. I very much hope to return in the future, especially considering how affordable our meals were given the super high quality.
