si le repas était appréciable et apprécié (de jolies découvertes dans le menu dégustation), si le cadre est chaleureux et agréable, il n'en est pas de même pour le personnel qui semble sous tension, tension partagée par l'ensemble des clients à coup de "si tu n'es pas content c'est pareil" pour une histoire de couteau. il est clair que le métier n'est pas facile, mais le client s'attend à partager autre chose que des tensions en allant au restaurant. Dommage, cette dame a gâché notre moment, nous mettant mal à l'aise en tant que témoin de leurs broutilles. Son collègue a bien tenté d'être plus avenant et de rattraper l'histoire mais...

The food was excellent and great value. My wife and I had the pate, asparagus and pea soup, duck, and an almond pie. Exceptional cuisine. My problem was with one of my waiters. I chose a 68E bottle of wine and was charged 215E for the bottle he brought. I didn’t recognize it was not the bottle I ordered because he opened it behind me and never showed it to me first. When the check came and I questioned him about it he just shrugged it off. For this reason I probably won’t return as it leaves me with a bad feeling. What a shame.

Un délice, comme les autres fois : asperges comme agneau confit. Un regret : le restaurant est vraiment bruyant et c'est difficile d'y mener une conversation. Mais merci pour ce moment gastronomique !

We visited the restaurant as a family and ordered the tasting menu. Every dish from beginning to end was perfect. We sat by the chef who was warm, entertaining and friendly to our son. We loved the entire experience!

Dining at L’Ami Jean was truly one of the most memorable meals of our trip. We were a group of three for lunch, and the experience from start to finish was absolutely outstanding.

The space is intimate and full of charm—it feels like you’re having a meal in your grandmother’s cozy dining room, with warm, welcoming energy all around. Dishes were served on lovely decorative china, with thoughtful presentations that added to the experience (the beef shoulder arrived beautifully in a roasting pan!).

The food was phenomenal. We shared scallops, duck breast, beef shoulder, asparagus, fresh bread, and the most exquisite parmesan soup we’ve ever tasted. In fact, we’ve already looked up a recipe from the chef because we can’t wait until our next trip to Paris to enjoy it again.

The staff were also wonderful—friendly, attentive, and especially helpful in guiding us to the perfect wine selections based on our preferences.

L’Ami Jean gets our highest recommendation. If you’re visiting Paris, make time for this experience. It’s the kind of meal you’ll be talking about for years.

Super expérience ! Nous avions envie d'y aller depuis des années, habitant dans le quartier, et nous n'avons pas été déçus du tout. Tous les produits sont de qualité, frais et très bien cuisinés, et les serveurs et serveuses sont très sympas également. Nous reviendrons, c’est sûr !

Unfortunately one of the staff members was quite rude to us which kind of ruined the experience. The staff member seemed offended because we just ordered a lot of starters to share and chose beer over wine. The food was good though and another staff member was very nice to us towards the end.

Superbes asperges jambon, moutarde, fêta.
Agneau/duo soigneusement cuit avec super purée pommes de terre(mieux que celle de Robuchon).

We had a reservation to 9 pm and arrived at 21:10 because of the traffic. Instead the table will be waiting for us we had to wait 20 more minutes! We felt it was a punishment for being late... after completing 2 times and said it is too rude and I think a compensation is in order the waiter gave us 2 glasses of wine (a good idea from the beginning and not to wait ne asking for it...).
After being sited the service was good and the dishes came out quickly. We ordered 4 different dishes (all starter). They were nice but the problem was that all the dishes tastes the same...
Overall I won't recommend thus to me friends. It is very touristic and you can find much better restaurants in paris.

Unfortunately we had to leave before our tasting selection was served. We can’t comment on anything. Our son has a nut allergy which we told the waiter and explained before ordering. We were served a pate with nuts which he ate so we had to leave to make sure he was ok. Food allergies are life threatening and are now found more and more. Please educate your staff to always ask about allergies to food. The night before we dined at Joel Rubuchon and they were able to accommodate.
