The list of issues is SO long, I will bullet point:
-hotel was under new management last summer, I think good reviews from pre-2022 are completely irrelevant at this point as everything's changed:
-clearly still same people in charge as last summer: they were inhospitable, unprofessional and I would go as far as saying rude to clients;
-pool is filthy and constantly closed, chairs umbrellas loungers etc. haven't been cleaned or maintained (let alone replaced) in a long time; I wouldn't set foot in the pool area, although as I say for 4 days it was closed 90% of the time anyway;
-house is old, plumbing and pipe issues is one thing they had throughout last summer looking at reviews around the same time, and our own experience: no water at all or only cold water for days??? Arrogant and unapologetic response from staff who literally said: "But well, there is still cold water, so what's the problem?". When there was no water, still no apology let alone money back.
-again, house is old and in dire need of renovation: rooms are tired, curtains, furniture etc. old. But it was also dusty and not well maintained, i.e. it wasn't clean. For the money charged, this is absolutely not good value for money and I suspect the three star rating would be taken away upon a new inspection (the last one seems to have taken place pre-Covid).
-breakfast is not only insulting, it's actually mouldy (the only "fruit" or anything not prepacked in the selection was mouldy) and possibly dangerous: i.e. old and out-of-date products like eggs. Again, someone needs to prompt an inspection and I do believe the results may entirely shut down the establishment.
-parking is an absolute joke, tiny parking that is charged overnight with cars parked so some can't exit if another parks in front (staff regularly parked in front to have it easy essentially inconveniencing their own guests, who have paid for this privilege). This becomes a real problem if you need to leave early for a flight (for example) and staff vehicles are obstructing exit because they can't be bothered to show up early to work either, or pick up the emergency phone they give as out of hours contact.
-the area itself is not calm and peaceful at all, there's a massive building site nearby with a huge crane hanging almost over the establishment. On a very busy junction.
In short, if you want an absolutely squalid stay with rude, lazy and incompetent staff that is massively overpriced, this is your place.
