Whilst there is no denying this is a wonderful hotel, for its 5 star rating the service in some areas could be improved. Long wait by pool for drinks service, as was case in the restaurants at times. Our host was good but missed a few things and booked a riding adventure which was quite frankly appauling. Room service fabulous, and around the complex all staff friendly and welcoming. Biggest shock for us was the number of young children and our inability to book restaurants in an evening without them joining us! Also booking restaurants in advance of our stay because once we were there it was impossible to alter any bookings in the evening!

Our 5th visit here was just as memorable as the 1st. I don't think we will ever get tired of coming here. The perfect welcome on arrival and personal assistance throughout our stay is 2nd to none. The people, resort, food and golf are all amazing. You are made to feel that somehow you are the only guests.

We have been to Shandrani, Sugar Beach, Lux grand Baie and 8 degrees south in the past 5 years. They were all wonderful, with beautiful people and great service.
Unfortunately this was really a bad experience. Service was absolutely nowhere. Everyone around us was experiencing the same thing. Not sure what is happening internally, but it’s pretty clear the staff don’t want to be there.
I would seriously consider moving your booking from this hotel, to avoid disappointment for your holiday.
Without the golf course, this hotel would already have had to close.
